Arsenal have yet to make a formal offer for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana and are exploring homegrown goalkeeping options in the UK, football.london understands.
The Ajax goalkeeper had been waiting on the verdict of his doping ban appeal before deciding whether to move this summer, with Arsenal among the clubs keen on signing him.
Onana will be able to train again after September 4, while he can resume playing football from November 4.
However, Dutch giants Ajax have yet to receive a formal offer for Onana with one source telling football.london that the Gunners are also looking at homegrown options for the goalkeeper position.
25-year-old Onana broke through with the Dutch giants in 2016 and has gone on to make 204 appearances in the time since.
He has won two Eredivisie titles with the club and has gone on to make 18 appearances for national side Cameroon.
Interestingly, Onana is another recommendation of goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, who has known the Cameroon international personally for over a decade from their time at Barcelona's academy.
football.london revealed last month that German shot stopper Leno is keen on seeking a new challenge away from the club, with Arsenal open to offers for the 29-year-old.
Alex Runarsson is also available for a move away from Arsenal this summer, and a loan move appears likely for the Iceland international.
