Arsenal vs Wolves: Henrihk Mkhitaryan rescues point after Ivan Cavaleiro's first-half goal

Henrikh Mkhitaryan came off the bench to salvage a point for Arsenal as they extended their unbeaten run against a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who were deserving of victory.

The visitors, whose 29-year wait for a win away to the Gunners goes on, looked set to end a three-game losing streak thanks to Ivan Cavaleiro’s opener.

But Unai Emery‘s side have shown desire when behind and have now taken nine points from losing positions in the Premier League this season as Mkhitaryan’s cross-cum-shot evaded everyone to earn Arsenal a point from a 1-1 draw just four minutes from full-time.

Another slow start could easily have cost the hosts dear – with Cardiff the only other side in the top-flight yet to hold a half-time lead this season.

Wolves played their part and will feel they should have wrapped up a win of their own, Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno on hand to make a number of key saves from the visitors, who rattled the woodwork in the closing stages through Morgan Gibbs-White.

Arsenal legend compares Aubameyang to Henry

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the closest thing Arsenal have had to Thierry Henry since the Frenchman left the club in 2007, according to former Gunners defender Martin Keown.

Nuno calls on Wolves to rediscover early form

Wolves have lost their last three games - the first time under Nuno Espirito Santo they have suffered three successive defeats in the league.

"We're not in the best moment but we have to react to it. In every moment it's a challenge for us because we have to get better. You have to challenge yourself and improve yourself.

"You cannot get results if you don't perform well, that's what I think and defend.

"We reacted well from the bad performance against Watford, we didn't achieve the result against Brighton or Tottenham but we performed well.

"We work to perform better and well and then we try to achieve the result. We don't think about the result first - no matter what it's perform well, do your tasks and try to win.

"We chased the result against Tottenham and gave everything we could and there were a lot of positives but there were a lot of negatives. We have to improve."

KICK OFF
We're off

Arsenal get us underway!
1: Arsenal waste absolutely no time in getting on the front foot and it seems the right wing will be their choice of attacking tactic this afternoon. Bellerin is looking well up for this one.
6: Ozil and Kolasinac combine well with clever one-two on the left wing, but Jonny is alive to the danger and comes across to clear the danger. Arsenal are pressing Wolves very well at the moment.
7: Wolves have their first chance to break forward and it's Neves with the ball to Costa, who moves it onto Cavaleiro. The winger shifts the ball to his right foot and curls a cross into the box, but Leno reads his intention and claims it.
10: Wolves are playing their way into this game now and are causing Arsenal a could of problems. Jiminez bursts through the middle of the pitch and tries to catch out Leno with a chip, but it's easily claimed.
GOAL!
12: Ivan Cavaleiro gives Wolves the lead!

Granit Xhaka, what are you doing!?

The Swiss midfielder dummies a pass and lets it run beyond him, who collects it? Cavaleiro. The winger slips the ball to Jimenez and converts his low cross.
That's about right

17: The Arsenal response has been...well...limited. It's much of the same from the Gunners, who you would not expect deviate from their usual tight process.

Ozil tries dropping deep to get things ticking but Wolves are keeping things tight.
22: Here's the Arsenal fightback!

Ozil drifts to the left and picks out a low ball into the middle. Bellerin lets it run and it falls to Lacazette, who sets himself and has a powerful effort blocked by Bennett.

Iwobi then tries an effort from range but Wolves get a block in.
26: Wolves are moving the ball around really nicely and Costa is next to test Leno. He cuts onto his left foot and opts for power over placement with his left-footed shot from the edge of the area, but Leno is equal to his strike.
Wolves are good value for their lead

30: An Arsenal corner falls to Bellerin on the edge of the box and he tries a powerful strike but Coady blocks it with his head. All hands to the pump for the visitors.
35: After a long spell of defending, Wolves eventually stretch their legs and work the ball forwards. Jimenez rounds off a nice move by dragging a shot wide from range.
40: Holding spots Bellerin's run and almost picks him out with a pass but it runs off the pitch. The right-back slams the ground in frustration, such is Arsenal's mood.
