Arsenal vs Lyon
2019 Emirates Cup
Venue: Emirates Stadium, London
Kick-off time: 3:15pm BST, Sunday July 28
No doubt buoyed by their recent progress in the transfer market, Arsenal return to action on home soil against Lyon this weekend.
After only being able to recruit young striker Gabriel Martinelli so far this summer, the Gunners announced two signings in a matter of hours on Thursday as Dani Ceballos arrived on loan from Real Madrid and William Saliba joined from St Etienne.
While the latter is due to return to his former club on loan as part of the deal, Spanish midfielder Ceballos could make his debut on Sunday in the revamped 10th edition of the Emirates Cup.
This year the pre-season competition - which was last played in 2017 - is in a one-day format, with Arsenal's men facing Lyon after their women's team have battled Bayern Munich.
Arsenal have just returned from their tour of the United States, where wins over the Colorado Rapids, Bayern and Fiorentina was followed by a dramatic penalty shootout defeat to Real Madrid.
French outfit Lyon, meanwhile, suffered successive defeats at the hands of Servette and Genoa.

Arsenal vs Lyon predicted lineups and team news
Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding are both still working their way back to full fitness for Arsenal after long-term knee injuries, while Konstantinos Mavropanos and Emile Smith Rowe also remain out.
Ceballos could make his first Gunners appearance against Lyon and Ainsley Maitland-Niles may return after feeling pain in his calf during the warm-up before the match against Real Madrid in Washington DC.
Shkodran Mustafi was similarly not risked against Zinedine Zidane's side due to a bout of muscular pain.
Lucas Torreira, Alex Iwobi, Mohamed Elneny and Matteo Guendouzi all missed Arsenal's US tour after featuring in international tournaments.
Arsenal XI: Leno, Jenkinson, Sokratis, Mustafi, Monreal, Xhaka, Willock, Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang, Lacazette
Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Lyon
Arsenal's stateside tour came to a disappointing and ultimately explosive end against Real as Unai Emery's men blew a 2-0 half-time lead in a game that saw both Nacho Monreal and Sokratis Papastathopoulos sent off.
However, three wins and a narrow defeat made it a successful tour overall and some simmering transfer tensions will have been relieved by the respective captures of Ceballos and Saliba.
Lyon - who boast feared striker Moussa Dembele among their current ranks - come into the tie on the back of consecutive losses.
Arsenal will be confident of another win here, with Alexandre Lacazette potentially set to haunt his former employers.
