Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1
Premier League 2018/19

Arsenal and Liverpool played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners's unbeaten run was extended to 14 matches in all competitions.

James Milner had looked to have secure all three points but a moment of brilliance from Alexandre Lacazette in the final ten moments secured a well-deserved point for Unai Emery's men.

Arsenal team news

Unai Emery has been handed a major boost after Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac proved their fitness for the visit of Liverpool to the Emirates.

The Arsenal head coach has been dealing with a major defensive headache in his ranks, with Bellerin (thigh), Nacho Monreal, Kolasinac (both hamstring) and Sokratis Papastathopopulos (ankle) all requiring fitness tests before today’s game.

Bellerin and Kolasinac passed theirs whilst it is understood that Monreal is also close to a comeback, though Saturday’s game has come too soon for him and Sokratis.

Matteo Guendouzi’s suspension means Granit Xhaka, who had been used at left-back to cover for Monreal and Kolasinac, returns to a midfield berth alongside Lucas Torreira.

Further forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan is preferred to Alex Iwobi and lines up alongside captain for the day Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Liverpool team news

James Milner returns for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp makes three changes to his starting XI for this evening's clash with Arsenal.

The midfielder missed out on last week's comfortable wins over Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City, being named on the bench for both fixtures, but is restored to line-up as the Reds look to reclaim top spot in the Premier League.

Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson also come back into the visitors' team after missing last weekend's victory against Cardiff, with Dejan Lovren - who is absent from the squad - and Alberto Moreno making way as a result.

Liverpool are otherwise unchanged from that fixture, with Fabinho making a third consecutive start for the club for the first time since his summer move from AS Monaco.

That means Xherdan Shaqiri misses out on a start despite his recent good form, though the Swiss is available to Klopp from the bench should he be required.
