Fulham’s survival hopes were dealt a cruel late blow as Eddie Nketiah struck in the 97th minute to rescue a point for Arsenal in this afternoon’s London derby at the Emirates.
Josh Maja’s penalty had given Fulham the lead against the run of play after Gabriel felled Mario Lemina, after Arsenal had had an effort ruled out for a tight VAR offside call shortly before the interval.
Arsenal also lost in-form striker Alexandre Lacazette to injury but it was his replacement, Nketiah, who made the telling contribution off the bench, poking home from close range after Alphonse Areola had parried Dani Ceballos’ strike.
