Arsenal vs Chelsea: How likely is an all-English Europa League final?

Both Arsenal and Chelsea still have work to do in their Europa League semi-finals, as the two Premier League sides experienced different fates in their first legs.

Unai Emery, chasing a fourth Europa League title after lifting the trophy three times with Sevilla, saw his Arsenal side fall behind early on to a Mouctar Diakhaby effort but two first-half goals from Alexandre Lacazette turned the tie on it’s head.

The France international had a number of decent chances in the second period to secure a hat-trick and put Arsenal with one foot in the final in Baku but couldn't take those opportunities, although Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's late effort gives the Gunners a two-goal cushion on aggregate.

Chelsea, meanwhile, also fell behind in their trip to Germany as highly-coveted forward Luka Jovic opened the scoring for Eintracht Frankfurt but Pedro’s equaliser pegged the Bundesliga side back before the break.

Maurizio Sarri’s side were unable to find a winning goal in the second period but will fancy their chances of advancing as they welcome their opponents to Stamford Bridge in the reverse leg next week.

That means the prospect of an all-English Europa League final is still very much on, with OddsChecker showing that Chelsea remain favourites to go all the way with a price of 5/6, while Arsenal are second favourites and are tipped at 5/2.

Valencia, who need two goals against the Gunners at the Mestella next week to have any chance of turning the tie around, are now ranked at 8/1 while Eintracht Frankfurt, despite being level heading into their second leg, have drifted to odds of 12/1 to go all the way, with the bookies clearly feeling they will fall in the final even if they secure a memorable win against Chelsea.
