Arsenal vs Bayern Munich line-ups: Confirmed team news and predicted XIs for International Champions Cup game

Arsenal are expected to field a far stronger XI when they take on Bayern Munich in their second US tour friendly on Wednesday night.

Unai Emery selected a youthful side for the opening game of the trip earlier this week, a decision that was vindicated as new signing Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and James Olayinka all notched during a 3-0 victory over Major League Soccer outfit the Colorado Rapids.

The likes of Shkodran Mustafi and Sead Kolasinac were introduced as second-half substitutes in Commerce City, while Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all made late cameos.

That quintet should start in the first match of Arsenal's International Champions Cup campaign against Bayern in Carson, California, with Emery no doubt eager to match the threat posed by the reigning Bundesliga champions.

First-choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno - who has been suffering with a thumb/wrist issue - is likely to compete with deputy Emiliano Martinez for the No1 shirt having been an unused substitute last time out.

That was also the case for Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson, Nacho Monreal, Granit Xhaka and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, all of whom will be vying for promotion at the home of Los Angeles Galaxy.

Emery may also be tempted to opt for a three-man defence after playing with a back four in Colorado, but Laurent Koscielny is unavailable having declined to travel.

Hector Bellerin is still working his way back after knee surgery performed in January, while Rob Holding and Konstantinos Mavropanos are also building fitness after respective injury problems.

Krystian Bielik, Matteo Guendouzi, Mohamed Elneny, Lucas Torreira and Alex Iwobi are all absent.

For Bayern, Serge Gnabry should line up against his former employers.

New signings Benjamin Pavard and Jann-Fiete Arp are also in contention, while teenage winger Alphonso Davies has not had much of a break after playing for Canada at the Gold Cup.

Lucas Hernandez has not travelled to the US as he continues to recover from knee surgery.

Predicted Arsenal starting XI: Leno; Sokratis, Mustafi, Monreal; Maitland-Niles, Xhaka, Willock, Kolasinac; Ozil; Aubameyang, Lacazette
