Arsenal urged to make move to sign another Brighton star after transfer for Ben White

Arsenal are being urged to look into the availability of Yves Bissouma from Brighton.

The Gunners are already in a pursuit of £50m rated centre-back Ben White from the Seagulls, and Arsenal have also been linked with Bissouma too this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his midfield options.

The 24-year-old has been a standout in the Brighton team since his arrival in 2018, making 95 appearances across all competitions and scoring four times.

Before they turn their attentions to the Ivory Coast international though, Arsenal are first expected to wrap up the signing of Anderlecht’s Albert Sambi Lokonga.

According to reports, the transfer to bring Lokonga to the Emirates is likely to go through as the 21-year-old has his heart set on a move to the Gunners.

Lokonga has made 33 appearances for Anderlecht this season in the Belgian First Division, scoring three goals, and former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell thinks he'd be a perfect addition to Mikel Arteta's squad, but that the Gunners should still move to sign Bissouma as well.

“I can’t say I know [Albert Sambi] Lokonga particularly well,” he told Football Insider.

“He is young and I’ve heard he is very talented so it sounds like a good deal. He is a player I will have to do some more research on.

“Lokonga has first team experience so he can come in and be a part of the first team squad.

“Arteta needs to get the balance of the squad right. He needs to bring in some exciting young players like Lokonga as well as some more experienced players.

“I think we will mix and match our signings and I still think there is a chance of [Yves] Bissouma coming in, as well as Ben White.

“Arsenal have to go for it this summer. They need to use this as a building block. Arsenal cannot afford not to be in Europe next season.”
