Arsenal urged to complete Yves Bissouma transfer ahead of summer shake up

Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have been urged to go all out for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma this summer.

So says Mali international Bissouma's compatriot Mahamadou Diarra, regarded by many as one of the best holding midfielders during his playing days.

The former Fulham and Real Madrid star believes a midfield combination of Bissouma and Thomas Partey will be a recipe for success in the Premier League.

He told Mirror Sport : “Yves has shown he’s got the ability to do big things and he’s handled big games really well.

“I have heard Arsenal and other clubs are interested but I think Arsenal should go all out for him.

“He is young, he wants to improve and already knows how to succeed in a big league so I think he will play well in the Arsenal team.”

Bissouma shone for Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove and Albion this season as they successfully beat the drop.

Only Tottenham ’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made more tackles than Bissouma’s 85 in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old joined Brighton in 2018 and has been quietly making a name for his himself in England.

His manager recently alluded to his growing reputation by saying there is no team in the world he couldn’t play for.

“He’s not at the top," Potter said. "But he’s got incredible potential and incredible talent. He’s got the attributes to play midfield in any game in the world.”
