Arsenal trio return to training as club receive boost ahead of Nottingham Forest Carabao Cup tie

Unai Emery's Arsenal have been handed a triple boost ahead of their Carabao Cup clash with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Arsenal trio Hector Bellerin, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Kieran Tierney have all returned to full training this week and are now in contention to play a part during next week's tie.

The club confirmed the news on their official website while also updating fans that central defender Rob Holding could also feature in what would be his first Gunners outing since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against Manchester United in 2018.

Spanish international Bellerin has also been recovering from the same injury and has now rejoined the first-team for on-field training to bolster Emery's options on the right side of his defence.

And his options have also been strengthened across the entirety of his back line with news that Mavropanos and Tierney have also been back on the training pitch.

Mavropanos, who joined the club in 2018, broke into the Gunners side towards the end of last season and was hugely impressive in their 5-0 win over Burnley in May before sustaining an injury the following week.

Meanwhile, Tierney is yet to play a competitive game for Arsenal since arriving from Celtic this summer.

The 22-year-old was one of the club's biggest signings of the summer and will look to make the left-back role his own at the Emirates over the coming months.

Emery's side still remain without Alexandre Lacazette after he picked up a knee injury earlier this month.

Arsenal's medical staff have refused to put a date on his return but have confirmed that he will be out of action until at least the end of the month.
