Arsenal transfers: Ryan Fraser's Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe opens door to move

Eddie Howe has hinted Arsenal target Ryan Fraser could leave Bournemouth by admitting there are no guarantees he will sign a new deal.

Assist-king Fraser has emerged as a surprise target for Gunners boss Unai Emery after enjoying a stellar campaign.

The 25-year-old Scotland winger is out of contract at the end of next season, and Howe said: “We have spoken to Ryan and his representatives about his contract. It is one where we will see what happens.

“There is no doubting Ryan’s quality and how highly we think of him. He is an outstanding talent but it is a two-way prospect to sign a contract, so let’s wait and see.

“Ryan has contributed to the team this season but it’s not the time to talk about speculation. Who knows in the summer? It is that time of year when things change and us ourselves will be looking to sign players.”

Bournemouth can break through the magic 40-point barrier by beating Burnley today but Howe has warned his players against complacency.

Howe said: “I don’t consider ourselves established. The minute you do that that is when difficulties can arise and we still need to finish this season off and consolidate our position again. Every year we do that has to be considered a success.”

Bournemouth’s hopes of challenging for seventh place have been derailed by a run of only one win in their last eight matches.

Howe added: “It is a disappointing return. Like with any time when you are not at your best there are a host of different reasons. I don’t think there is one thing you can point at and say, ‘That’s the reason,’ there are a combination of factors We are just looking to get back to the level we know we can play at.”
