Arsenal transfer target Yannick Carrasco admits he has an offer on the table

Yannick Carrasco has admitted he has a transfer offer on the table and that negotiations are "progressing well".

The long-term Arsenal target looks set to leave Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang this summer to complete a move back to Europe.

Arsenal were linked with a transfer for the midfielder in January but opted to sign Barcelona star Denis Suarez on loan instead.

The Spaniard failed to shine at the Emirates, with the Gunners deciding not to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis.

Carrasco was coy on who has made an offer for him, but with Arsenal keen on signing a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, and having previously been interested in the player, Belgian media have suggested it is the Gunners.

Speaking to Belgian website Nieuwsblad, Carrasco said: "There is now an offer on the table and the negotiations with my agent are progressing well.

"I am the most important player in the club, but I hope the chairman understands me."

It has been well-documented that Carrasco has struggled to adapt to life in China, which has seen him routinely linked with a transfer back to Europe.

The former Atletico Madrid man added: "From a family point of view, I would rather play in Europe and stay closer to my family. The adjustment for my family was also difficult over there.

"I have become a lot more mature and have learned a lot. Also on the field, where I had to take my responsibility and the team had to bear. But my wish now is to return."
