Arsenal transfer target pictured with future team-mates as he closes in on move

Arsenal transfer target William Saliba was pictured alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Ainsley Maitland-Niles on Sunday night as he closes in on a move to north London.

The Gunners are set to win the race for the £28m-rated centre-back, beating off local rivals Tottenham to land the 18-year-old youngster.

He is set to undergo a medical with the club in the coming days ahead of a move which will see him loaned back to current club Saint-Etienne for the upcoming season.

Like Arsenal , Saint-Etienne are in the middle of a tour of the USA and Saliba did not feature in their 2-1 defeat to Marseille at the weekend.

He watched on as a spectator and was pictured alongside Aubameyang, who made the trip to watch his former club at DC United's Audi Field, as well as Frenchman Lacazette and team-mate Maitland-Niles.

The France Under-20 international looks set to become team-mates with the trio, and photos of them in the same shot did the rounds on social media to get Arsenal fans excited.

Aubameyang spent three years playing for Saint-Etienne and took the chance to catch up with coaching staff and old friends - including skipper Loic Perrin - at the club where he scored 41 goals in 97 appearances between 2011 and 2013.

Saliba's captain at Saint-Etienne, Perrin, declared he has plenty of challenges ahead as he vowed to help ensure he is ready for his switch to Arsenal after another year playing in France.

"He blew up in the space of a year," Perrin said.

"The hardest part begins for him now.

"He doesn’t have many Ligue 1 matches under his belt.

"I hope this year will allow him to collect playing time so that he can leave ready."
