Arsenal transfer rumours: Yunus Musah blow, Mesut Ozil replacement eyed, Houssem Aouar boost

Arsenal are back in Premier League action on Sunday evening when they make the short trip to face arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

It's the first north London derby of the season, and for the Gunners, it's a chance to bounce back from their dreadful recent form in the league.

Mikel Arteta's side have lost four out of their last six Premier League matches, and this concerning run may force the Spaniard back into the transfer market when the window opens on January 4.

In light of this, we have gathered the latest transfer news and rumours on Arsenal.

Musah signs new Valencia deal

Valencia starlet Yunus Musah has signed a new long-term contract at the La Liga side despite links with a return to Arsenal.

The New York-born former England youth international came through the Gunners' academy system, spending seven years at the north London club before signing for Valencia in 2019.

There were rumours that Musah could be set to return to Arsenal after impressing for the Spanish club, but those reports have quickly been put to bed. The 18-year-old was also linked with a move to Leeds United and Everton, but he has now put pen to paper on a new six-year contract with Javi Gracia's side.

Arteta keen on Ozcan

Arsenal are interested in signing Istanbul Basaksehir midfielder Berkay Ozcan, according to Transfermarkt per TBR Football.

The German outlet have reported that Arteta is keen on the 22-year-old Turkish ace following his impressive form this season. The Gunners have been watching Ozcan since 2017, the report claims, and could look to make a move for him when the January transfer window opens.

With Mesut Ozil looking set to leave the Emirates Stadium, the Turkey international could come in and replace the out-of-favour playmaker.

Gunners handed Aouar boost

Houssem Aouar was a target for Arsenal during the summer and now the Lyon star could be available to buy when the January window opens.

French outlet L'Equipe report that Aouar could leave before the opening of the summer transfer window in 2021, meaning the mid-season period could be an option for the Gunners.

Arteta was reportedly keen on the 22-year-old over the summer, but a deal never materialised, and now speculation is mounting over Dominik Szoboszlai as an alternative to Aouar.

However, if the north London-based side were to go back in for the Lyon man, they're unlikely to be the only interested party, with Juventus also keen on signing the France international.
