Arsenal's start to the Premier League season has been so poor that Mikel Arteta will surely be desperate to make some new signings in January.
The mid-season transfer window opens in just a matter of weeks and Arteta will already be scanning the market in order to improve his under-performing squad.
The Gunners also have some players who are set to leave the Emirates Stadium when the window does open. Here is a round-up of the latest transfer stories and rumours concerning Arsenal.
Ex-City defender set to sign
Former Manchester City defender Omar Rekik is in London to complete a £900,000 move to Arsenal.
The Gunners had already agreed a fee with Hertha Berlin for nearly £1m for Rekik as part of Matteo Guendouzi's loan deal to the Bundesliga outfit.
The 18-year-old defender, who was previously at Man City's academy, has posted an image on his Instagram, per the Metro, with a plane touching down in the English capital.
However, Rekik could be seen as a future prospect rather than someone who would go straight into Arsenal's first-team.
Ozil likely to finish season with Gunners
Mesut Ozil's agent Erkut Sogut believes his client is likely to finish the season with Arsenal, despite the lack of game time.
Ozil is completely out of the picture under Arteta, with the Spaniard leaving him out of both the Premier League and Europa League squads.
The former Germany international sees his contract expire at the end of the season, and looks set to leave the Emirates on a free.
Speaking to Fanatik, per Sport Witness, Ozil's agent Sogut said: “Fenerbahce’s interest is also known. Nothing has changed for Mesut right now. Under these circumstances, it seems that Mesut will complete the season in Arsenal.”
Gunners handed Gomez boost
Valencia president Anil Murphy has admitted to AS that the Spanish club will need to sell some players in order to improve their financial situation.
This could be a big boost for Arsenal, who have been linked with a move for Maxi Gomez recently. Wolves are also keen on Gomez, and Valencia boss Javi Gracia has previously revealed his concern that the 24-year-old could leave the La Liga outfit.
Valencia president Murphy said: "Two difficult years await us and there will be additional sales of players."
