Arsenal transfer rumours: Philippe Coutinho update, Rafinha targeted, Roma eye Sokratis

Arsenal are just a few days away from beginning their new first full season under Mikel Arteta, with the Community Shield clash against Liverpool this weekend.

The Gunners have already added Willian to their ranks on a free transfer from Chelsea and are closing in on a deal to sign Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.

Transfer business is not finished there though and a host of other names continue to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with some outgoing deals also on the cards.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding the club.

The ultimate lowdown on Houssem Aouar

Philippe Coutinho update

Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho will hold talks with new manager Ronald Koeman about his future, Sport states.

The Brazilian spent the season on loan with Bayern Munich, winning the Champions League, but the Bundesliga giants will not make a move for a permanent deal.

While Coutinho has been surplus to requirements at Barcelona, the arrival of Koeman could hand the former Liverpool man a second chance.

He has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League, with Arsenal consistently touted for his services.

Rafinha targeted

Arsenal are among a trio of Premier League clubs eyeing a move for Barcelona midfielder Rafinha.

Sport states that the Gunners are rivalling Everton and West Ham for the services of the midfielder, who is expected to be included in a wealth of departures from the Nou Camp.

Interestingly, Mikel Arteta's side have also been recently reported to have approached Bayern Munich about Thiago.

That could see the two Alcantara brothers link-up together for the first time since their breakthough in Catalonia.

Roma eye Sokratis

Roma are looking to sign three Premier League players in the transfer window, with Sokratis among them.

The Express states Sokratis, along with Manchester United's Chris Smalling and Chelsea's Jorginho, are being lined-up by the Serie A side following their successful takeover.

Arsenal are keen to offload Sokratis and Roma's transfer plans could hand the Gunners another boost.

Mikel Arteta's side are being linked with Amadou Diawara as an alternative to Thomas Partey and Roma could sell in order to raise funds.
