Arsenal transfer rumours: Lyon chief comments on Houssem Aouar bid, Shkodran Mustafi agreement

Arsenal have been active in the transfer market this summer bolstering their side ahead of Mikel Arteta's first full season at the club.

The Gunners have landed Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes and Alex Runarsson, while there was also a huge boost with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang penning a three-year deal.

However, the work in the market is not done yet though as Arteta is also eyeing midfield recruits, with Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey the two main targets.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding the north London side.

Lyon chief on Aouar bid

Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas has played down the chances of Houssem Aouar leaving the French side in the final few weeks of the transfer window.

The Gunners reportedly made their first offer for the Frenchman this week but it has been made clear that it was not enough to persuade Lyon into a deal.

Taking to Twitter, Aulas said: "There will be very few exits. For Houssem, Arsenal is too far from his value.

"We are counting on him to play a great match in Lorient and to lead Lyon in [the] Champions League next year."

Mustafi agrees Lazio transfer

Serie A side Lazio have agreed a contract and salary with Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi, with negotiations for a transfer at an advanced stage.

Lazio Press states that the only remaining hurdle is figuring out what salary the German international will have with the Italian side alongside his contract.

It's added that Mustafi's agent and father are 'masterminding' the deal, with Arsenal prepared to accept a departure as they look to raise funds for their own transfer business.

Tobi Omole on trial at Tottenham

Former Arsenal youngster Tobi Omole has gone on trial with Tottenham and was on bench for the U23 side against the Gunners on Saturday, as reported by Arsenal Youth.

The 20-year-old, who can play in midfield or defence, first featured for the U18s as a schoolboy and penned a scholarship deal with Arsenal in 2016.

Omole was one of three departures from the academy upon the end of their contracts this summer, along with Nathan Tormey and Matthew Dennis.
