Arsenal transfer rumours: Isco makes decision, Joan Jordan interest, Sokratis set to leave

Arsenal recorded their first Premier League victory in almost two months on Boxing Day, as they beat Chelsea 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

It was a much-needed three points for Mikel Arteta and his Gunners side, who are battling to climb up the top-flight table after their poor start to the season.

However, Arteta will be well aware that to further improve his squad, there will need to be some reinforcements brought to the club in the January transfer window, which opens very soon.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of all the latest transfer stories and rumours that concern Arsenal.

Mustafi to Barcelona, Declan Rice, Dele's future - The Transfer News Show

Isco transfer decision

Real Madrid midfielder Isco - who has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks - has decided he wants to join Sevilla next season.

That's according to Spanish outlet AS, who are reporting that the 28-year-old believes playing under Julen Lopetegui once again will be beneficial for his career.

The Sevilla manager was Isco's boss when the pair were at fellow Spanish outfit Malaga.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a creative midfielder, and the Spain international certainly fits that bill - but they may have been dealt a big blow in that pursuit.

Gunners interested in Jordan

Arsenal are interested in signing Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan in the January transfer window, according to a report from The Sun.

Arteta has identified Jordan as the answer to his side's current struggles, the report claims, having tracked his progress for the past three years.

The 26-year-old has a £55million buyout clause in his current contract at the La Liga side, but Sevilla are willing to listen to offers of £32m.

The Gunners will be willing to pay that sort of money for the Catalonia international, as Arteta looks to give his side an 'identity'.

Turkish club open Sokratis talks

Turkish club Fenerbahce have opened talks to sign Arsenal centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos in January, according to Turkish outlet Hurriyet.

The report claims that Sokratis is looking for a way out of the Emirates Stadium, with the Greek defender out-of-favour under Arteta.

With the 32-year-old's contract set to expire in the summer, he will be free to speak to clubs over a pre-contract in January, but the Gunners may be looking to cash-in on the former Borussia Dortmund man.

Fenerbahce have held 'positive talks' with Sokratis and are planning on making Arsenal an offer very soon.
