Arsenal transfer rumours: Houssem Aouar blow, Antoine Griezmann interest

Arsenal are eager to improve upon eighth spot in the Premier League after last season's disappointing effort but there is hope around the Emirates.

The Gunners have shown some promise in FA Cup and Community Shield wins over Chelsea and Liverpool this summer but more recruitment needs to be done.

Willian, Gabriel and Dani Ceballos' new loan deal have added quality to the Arsenal squad, but Mikel Arteta is still on the search for new players.

In light of this, here is the latest transfer rumours round-up on Arsenal.

Arsenal's next move after Gabriel

Griezmann's future at Barcelona 'in doubt'

Arsenal are said to be monitoring Antoine Griezmann's situation at Barcelona following Lionel Messi's decision not to leave the Spanish giants.

MailOnline have reported that Griezmann's future is now up in the air and they say it has put Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool on 'red alert'.

The 29-year-old joined Barcelona last year from Atletico Madrid for £107.5 million.

Aouar 'swap bid rejected'

Arsenal's attempt to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon in a swap deal has been knocked back by the French side.

French outlet L'Equipe claims the Gunners submitted an offer to the Ligue 1 side last week which included midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

Lyon feel that Guendouzi is not a necessary addition this summer and that's why they pulled out of the potential swap deal.

Lacazette drops hint

Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with an exit from Arsenal this summer but he may have just dropped a hint that he is staying at the Emirates after all.

Lacazette simply wrote on Instagram: "Pre-season."

With this comment naturally sending Arsenal fans wild.

Previous comments from Lacazette should also give Arsenal fans the belief that the forward is staying put.

He recently said: "I’m happy with my career because I played for Lyon, my club since I was a child,’ he said ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup final victory over Chelsea. I played for Arsenal, my dream club in the UK. ‘I’m still happy about my career but obviously I would love to win more trophies and this one can make me happier in my Arsenal journey."
