Arsenal transfer rumours: Houssem Aouar £10m agent claim, Mesut Ozil move likely

With a short turnaround between transfer windows this year, the rumour mill remains in full speed at Arsenal.

While last Monday's transfer deadline day stops the Gunners doing business with clubs overseas, they have until Friday to complete any deals with EFL sides.

With that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

MLS move likely for Ozil

The Mirror report that Mesut Ozil is likely to move to the MLS when his Arsenal contract ends.

With the attacking midfielder effectively exiled from the Gunners after failing to make their Europa League squad, there is talk that the club may look at paying off his contract.

If so, then Ozil would be free to join any club in January, and a move to the USA looks to be on the cards.

Why Aouar deal fell through

ESPN, via the Mirror, report that Arsenal's inability to get a deal for major target Houssem Aouar over the line was due to the refusal to pay £10m in agent's fees to the player's brother Brahim.

The Lyon midfielder was one of the Gunners' top targets this summer and was said to have agreed a deal to go to the Emirates.

Yet the move fell through due to the large fees associated with a deal.

Championship trio eye Saliba

BT Sport report that Arsenal are now actively looking to loan William Saliba to a Championship club.

The 19-year-old centre-back's proposed return to St Etienne on loan fell through on deadline day and he is yet to feature in the Gunners' first-team this season despite being highly-rated.

Norwich City, Brentford and Watford are three second-tier clubs said to be among the suitors for the Frenchman.
