Arsenal transfer rumours: Gunners urged to make Coutinho move, Ceballos competition

Arsenal face Chelsea in the FA Cup final this afternoon knowing it is their last shot at qualifying for Europe next season.

After missing out on the Europa League in the Premier League, the Gunners still have the chance to qualify by winning the FA Cup.

Would European qualification make them more appealing to any potential transfer targets?

Here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Rivaldo backs Coutinho deal

Brazilian legend Rivaldo says Philippe Coutinho would be a good signing for Arsenal.

The attacking midfielder has struggled for form since leaving Liverpool for Barcelona and is said to want a return to the Premier League.

Rivaldo has backed this move, pinpointing Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City as three clubs where his compatriot could thrive.

He told the Sun: "Coutinho will soon return from his loan at Bayern to Barcelona, but I doubt he can revive his career there.

"His best option could be returning to English football where he spent the best seasons of his career.

"His qualities seem to be best suited, as he proved at Liverpool when was one of the best players in the Premier League.

"At Arsenal, Tottenham or Leicester, Coutinho could be a regular starter next season.

"It would be a good opportunity for the Brazillian to rediscover his best form and show that he continues to be an excellent player who belongs to the elite."

Premier League rivals want Ceballos

Marca report that Arsenal want to re-sign Dani Ceballos on loan - but face competition from Real Betis and an unnamed Premier League side.

Ceballos came through the youth ranks at Betis and made 105 appearances for the club before moving to Real Madrid in 2017.

Betis sporting director Antonio Cordon has talked up a potential move for the player.

He told Spanish radio station Onda Cero: "We all know how good a player Ceballos is.

"We know his past and he's a very interesting player.

"Going forward, we're going to have a look at our staff, our squad and how we're going to play."

Cordon also spoke with El Laguero, confirming the club's interest in Ceballos.

He said: "He's already been here and no one will forget his quality and attributes.

"He's a player any team would be interested in."

Doucoure interest

The Daily Mirror claim Arsenal are monitoring the availability of Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Doucoure is set to leave Vicarage Road this summer after Watford's relegation and has attracted interest from Everton.

Yet Arsenal view the midfielder as a potential alternative to Thomas Partey, with Atletico Madrid's £45m asking price proving problematic.

Doucoure has made 141 appearances for Watford since joining them from Rennes in 2016.
