Arsenal transfer rumours: Guendouzi loan exit, £4m Sokratis deal, Diawara interest confirmed

The new season is now less than a fortnight away and Arsenal already have their first silverware.

The Gunners won the Community Shield against Premier League title winners Liverpool over the weekend, winning on penalties.

It was an encouraging performance from Arsenal and no doubt Mikel Arteta will have been pleased with what he saw, but nevertheless, he and his recruitment staff will be keen to make further improvements.

We have already seen the Gunners linked with a whole host of names, and below we run you through the latest on the transfer front.

Mikel Arteta confident Aubameyang will sign again with Arsenal

Valencia eye Guendouzi

La Liga outfit Valencia are said to be eying a loan move for Matteo Guendouzi.

Guendouzi looks to be on the move this summer having fallen out of favour with Mikel Artetadue to his attitude at the back-end of last season.

Valencia are on the hunt for a new midfielder having lost Dani Parejo to local rivals Villarreal.

And reports from Super Deporte now report they could turn to Guendouzi with a loan deal and possibly an option to buy worth around £22m.

Sokratis set for departure

Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is set to depart for Napoli.

According to Italian outlet RAI, Sokratis will depart for Naples this summer on a deal worth around €4.5m.

And it now looks as though Arsenal could sell the Greek defender for a third of what they bought him for in 2018 from Borussia Dortmund.

Sokratis will link up with former AC Milan teammate Gennaro Gattuso, who is now Napoli boss.

Agent confirms Arsenal interest

Arsenal are indeed interested in Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara.

That's according to the player's agent, Daniele Piraino, who told Tutto Mercato: "He is concentrated on his career. Diawara is at a top club like Roma, where he is happy, as there is enthusiasm around the new owners.

"However, he is also liked by many clubs in England, including Arsenal. Being linked with certain clubs is pleasing for him, as these are prestigious sides. Amadou is concentrated on football and his career."

Diawara has only been with Roma for a year, joining from Napoli on a five-year deal in 2019.

It's said it would take around £27m to lure the midfielder away this summer.
