It’s set to be a busy summer for Mikel Arteta as the Arsenal boss gets the chance to put his stamp on his side.
With the transfer window open, the Spaniard has already got down to business, with Willian making the move from Chelsea to become the first signing ahead of the new season.
And there looks to be more along the way, not to mention possible news of a highly-anticipated new deal for a certain star striker.
Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from the Emirates Stadium.
New deal for Aubameyang
In news that will no doubt delight Arsenal fans, the Gunners have reportedly agreed terms on a new contract for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Telegraph report that the club are now “extremely close” to securing the future of their captain, whose current deal is set to expire next summer.
The improved terms are expected to increase his wages to around £250,000-a-week over a three-year period.
Aubameyang appeared to tease something on Sunday by tweeting the emoji of an hourglass, which is understood to reference his new deal.
Gunners close in on Gabriel
The same report from the Telegraph suggests Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.
They say a deal has been agreed in principle for the coveted centre-back, who Napoli and Everton are also vying to sign.
To complicate matters further, Napoli believe they are leading the race for the defender with a deal worth around £27.15million.
The negotiations on the deal with Gabriel were led by Raul Sanllehi, who left his role as Arsenal’s head of football last week.
Ozil offered to Galatasaray
According to reports in Turkey, the Gunners have offered Mesut Ozil to Turkish club Galatasaray.
The midfielder finds himself firmly on the periphery of Mikel Arteta’s plans in north London, having not played a single minute following the Premier League’s restart in June.
And with Ozil still the club’s top earner at £350,000-a-week, the club are eager to get him off the wage bill this summer.
According to Hurriyet in Turkey, the German has been offered to Galatasaray, while Arsenal are also said to have offered him to Fenerbahce, Basaksehir and AC Milan.
