Arsenal transfer rumours: Bellerin development, Eriksen swap deal, Gunners urged to sign seven

Arsenal suffered another defeat in the Premier League on Saturday evening, as the pressure continues to grow on Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners were beaten 2-1 away at Everton as their poor start to the 2020/21 season worsens.

Arteta and the club's board will surely be looking at improving the squad in any way possible when the transfer window opens in January. Here is the latest round-up of the Arsenal transfer stories and rumours from today.

Bellerin rejects Barca move

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has rejected a move to Barcelona in January, but will make the switch in the summer, according to the Mirror.

Mikel Arteta press conference after Everton defeat

Barca presidential candidate Joan Laporta is determined to re-sign Bellerin for the club that he started his career at.

The report claims that a figure just over £22million has been discussed for the 25-year-old Spaniard, who has been at the Gunners since he was 16-years-old.

However, the Arsenal defender turned down a chance to move to the Camp Nou in January, but will make the switch once the current season concludes.

Eriksen swap deal

Arsenal have the advantage in the race to sign Inter Milan playmaker Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window, according to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness.

The Gunners may use Granit Xhaka in a swap deal for Eriksen, the report claims, with Inter keen on the Swiss midfielder.

Xhaka still has two and a half years remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, but could be used in a part exchange deal for the former Tottenham man.

Eriksen left Spurs back in January, but has struggled to settle into life at the San Siro, and is being heavily linked with a move away from Italy.

Carragher wants seven signings

Jamie Carragher calls for Arsenal to make seven new signings to get where they want to be under Arteta.

The Gunners brought in Cedric Soares, Thomas Partey, Gabriel Magalhaes, Runar Alex Runarsson and Willian into the club during the summer transfer window, but Carragher has slammed the host of new signings.

"A couple of signings they made this season, Gabriel [Magalhaes], [Thomas] Partey, they could be a big part of Arsenal for years to come," the former Liverpool defender said on Sky Sports.

"But they need a few more players in the January transfer window. If Arteta can get six or seven players in then he can be judged on the job that he's doing."
