Arsenal transfer rumours: Aouar development, Man Utd young gun signed, Saliba revelation

Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday evening as they welcome Wolves to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have hit a bit of a slump in the top-flight recently and are now winless in their last two matches in the competition.

However, with the January transfer window opening in about a months' time, Mikel Arteta may look to add to his squad again following a busy summer period.

With that said, here are the latest Arsenal-related transfer stories.

Juventus contact Aouar

Juventus could make a move for reported Arsenal target Houssem Aouar in 2021, according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.

Aouar was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates throughout the summer transfer window, but so too were the Serie A champions.

The report states that Andrea Pirlo's side "reconnected" with Lyon and the France international's representatives in the latter stages of the summer window.

The Italian publication states at the end of the article that Arsenal remain in the race for Aouar, but still face competition from Juve, as well as Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal sign Man Utd youngster

Arsenal have completed the signing of Manchester United youngster Reuell Walters.

The 15-year-old spent just a year at United, but has now signed for the Gunners as part of the north London club's scholarship intake for next season.

Walters is expected to go into the Arsenal Under-16s side, and has become the latest ex-Tottenham Hotspur prospect to sign for their local rivals.

The teenager tweeted: "New chapter. New beginning. Thanks to God and everyone who has played a part in my journey so far, especially my mum, dad, sister, family, and friends. Also a very special thank you to everyone at Arsenal for believing in me. Excited to get started!"

Saliba was desperate for loan move

Arsenal defender William Saliba was desperate to make a loan move back to Saint-Etienne in the summer, according to his former team-mate Loic Perrin.

Saliba looked set to return to the French club on a temporary deal, but the side released a statement saying they couldn't complete the deal due to various "administrative conditions".

Talking to Telefoot Chaine (via Get French Football News), Perrin said that the centre-back was desperate to return to the Ligue 1 outfit on loan in the summer.

Saliba is still at the Emirates, but is yet to play a single minute under Arteta so far this season.
