Arsenal transfer rumours: £29m bid for Joelson Fernandes snubbed as fringe player nears exit

There is now just a month until the new Premier League season gets underway.

It means the pressure is on for clubs to integrate new signings into their squads in a shortened pre-season training period before the campaign starts.

Whilst clubs will have a month until the transfer window shuts, there is still plenty of desire to get deals done during the close-season.

With that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Joelson bid rejected

Portuguese outlet A Bola claim Arsenal have had a £29m bid rejected by Sporting CP for Joelson Fernandes.

It is understood to be the second official offer made for the teenager, with the Gunners previously having an £18m bid turned down.

Sporting are adamant that they will only sell the player if his release clause of £41m is triggered.

Yet, with the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic still hitting football, the Gunners have been testing the Portuguese side's resolve with lower bids.

Elneny agrees personal terms

Turkish website Asist Analiz claim that Mohamed Elneny has agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor.

The Egyptian international spent last season on loan with fellow Super Lig club Besiktas and now could be set for a return to Turkey.

Elneny is reportedly set to earn €1.5m per year if he switches to Trabzonspor.

The deal will likely be a season-long loan, depending on Arsena's asking price.
