Arsenal transfer round-up: West Ham ready to rival Gunners for Genk forward

Arsenal's summer transfer business is finally starting to pay off after a slow start to the season.

The Gunners added a host of young players in the summer as the likes of Martin Odegaard and Ben White arrived.

The latter is forming a solid partnership with Gabriel at the back whilst Aaron Ramsdale is looking like a star following his move from Sheffield United.

Mikel Arteta continues to be linked with forward options, despite already being well stocked in that area.

Arsenal are looking to become a major force at the top of the table once more but are currently trying to attract players without the lure of European football.

We take a look at the latest rumours coming out of the Emirates.

En Nesyri turns down Gunners

Arsenal saw attempts to sign Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla knocked back over the summer, reports ABC Sevilla.

The Moroccan forward scored 24 times, six of which came in the Champions League, for the LaLiga outfit in 52 games but chose to remain in Spain.

Several clubs were keen on his services with the Gunners leading the chase.

Alexandre Lacazette's future remained unclear and En-Nesyri, at 24, suited the type of players Arteta wanted to add the Emirates.

Arsenal made a concerted effort to sign players of a certain age as they look to build for the future.

Magpies eye Guendouzi

Matteo Guendouzi is in his second loan spell away from Arsenal but is attracting interest from Newcastle.

The French midfielder has fallen down the pecking order in north London and has headed back to his homeland in search of regular minutes.

Last term he went to Hertha Berlin, but Foot Mercato report that he is now a target for Newcastle.

The Magpies are being linked with a number of players following their takeover and Guendouzi may be a man Arsenal are willing to offload when they reassess their options in the summer.

Messi and Ronaldo's time will soon end, but who is set to be their heir apparent?

Hammers rival for Onuachu

West Ham have joined the race to sign Paul Onuachu, who is also on Arsenal's radar, according to Fichajes.

The Hammers are looking to make a move for the Genk star when the transfer window reopens in the new year as they look to steal a march on their London rivals.

Onuachu has attracted plenty of attention after scoring 12 goals in 18 outings across all competitions for Genk and West Ham have seen him up close having played the Belgian side during their Europa League campaign.

Arsenal do have a host of options in attack with Arteta currently struggling to utilise them all as Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun found their minutes limited.
