Arsenal transfer round-up: Striker 'top priority' as Dusan Vlahovic makes decision

Arsenal could well be on the lookout for a new No 9 in the New Year as Mikel Arteta deals with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future.

The forward is currently being overlooked for selection after committing a disciplinary breach.

As a result Alexandre Lacazette has played in attack, but his future too is uncertain with his contract expiring this summer.

The Gunners spent big in the summer of several players as they looked to lower the average age of their squad.

Several of their recruits are performing impressively as the north Londoners rise up the table and Arsenal may again have to dip into the market.

Arteta has his side back in the top four and may need reinforcements in they are to return to the Champions League.

Striker on the agenda

Arsenal have made adding a striker as a top priority in the January window.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s situation at the Emirates means the Gunners are light in attack with Mikel Arteta refusing to select the Gabon international, who is currently training alone.

Alexandre Lacazette's contract is also winding down which leaves his future uncertain.

Football London report that Lautaro Martinez is among those on the club's radar with Eddie Nketiah another forward options who will be leaving the club after turning down a new deal.

Club chief makes Vlahovic admission

Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone has confirmed that goalscoring sensation Dusan Vlahovic has turned down a new deal.

The 21-year-old Serb scored on Sunday to make it 33 goals in a calendar year, matching Cristiano Ronaldo's record.

As a result interest in the striker is mounting with Arsenal among those weighing up a move.

Barone said: "Dusan and his agent have turned down our new contract proposal. We offered the best salary in Fiorentina history"

Juve trio on radar

Aaron Ramsey is among three Juventus stars on the Gunners' shortlist.

The Welshman left north London back in 2019 on a free but has struggled to make an impact in Turin.

His two Old Lady teammates Arthur Melo and Dejan Kulusevski all both also of interest, reports Marca.

Juventus are struggling financially and may be willing to accept cut-price offers for any of the trio as they look to balance the books.
