Arsenal transfer round-up: Shkodran Mustafi on Reds radar, Southampton swap deal

Arsenal look like they will be dealing with departures rather than arrivals in the final days of the transfer window.

The Gunners have added Martin Odegaard on loan this month in an effort to add some more creativity to their attack.

A return to form for Mikel Arteta's side has perhaps lessened their need to go into the market.

Mesut Ozil has finally left the club which will allow both parties to move on following his switch to Fenerbahce.

Arteta though has several squad players who are wanting more minutes which may mean them seeking pastures new - be that permanently or on loan.

Here we bring you the latest transfer rumours from the Emirates.

Mustafi under Reds consideration

Liverpool are thought to be weighing up a bid for Arsenal's Shkodran Mustafi to ease their defensive injury crisis.

The German is out of favour at the Emirates, with Mikel Arteta keen to offload him.

According to the  Evening Standard  Liverpool  are yet to approach  Arsenal  about a potential deal.

Mustafi's contract is up in the summer, meaning the Reds could sign him for a minimal fee.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta admitted that the club were in talks with Mustafi's agent over potentially terminating his contract this month.

Saints swap possible

Arsenal are in the market for a left-back and have been linked with several names.

Southampton's Ryan Bertrand is thought to be on the radar following several impressive years at St Mary's.

The Saints however are understood to be interested in Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

The English man is keen to play more regularly as he seeks a place in the England squad this summer.

As a result the Daily Mail reports that a swap deal could suit both parties.

Torreira talks end

Lucas Torreira's hopes of a loan switch to Monaco look to be over after the two clubs ended discussions.

The Uruguayan is currently at Atletico Madrid but has found game time hard to come by.

Arsenal are keen to see the midfielder get more minutes so have considered loaning him elsewhere.

Monaco were thought to be leading the chase but now it appears as if they will have to explore other options, reports Fabrizo Romano.
