Arsenal transfer round-up: Jarrod Bowen price learned as Pablo Mari prepares to exit

Arsenal are less than 48 hours away from kicking off their 2022/23 Premier League campaign with a trip to Crystal Palace on Friday but plenty of hard work is still going towards trying to secure further deals this summer as they look to continue spending money.

The Gunners are rumoured to be interested in signing West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen this summer and the latest reports have revealed that they have learned his price tag after making enquiries for the forward. However, the Hammers could be about to land a double blow as they express an interest in Arsenal target Arthur Melo.

Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of the Emirates Stadium…

Gunners learn Jarrod Bowen price

Arsenal are looking for one more addition to their front line this summer following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City and have added West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen to their transfer wishlist, of which they have now learned his price tag should they wish to make a move.

According to The Sun, Arsenal have recently submitted an enquiry for the winger and have learnt from the Hammers that they must pay in the region of £75m for the England international if they want to take him off their hands this summer, which is likely to be way out of their price range.

The Irons have placed such a big price tag on Bowen’s head as a way of showing how important he is to them, and if anyone wants to buy him then they must pay an excessive amount of money, with the club in no need to sell any of their players at this moment.

West Ham deal Arthur Melo blow

While West Ham may have landed a huge blow to Arsenal in their pursuit of Jarrod Bowen by placing such a hefty price tag on his head, the Hammers may just be about to land a second big hit on the Gunners if they poach Arthur Melo from Juventus this summer.

The Gunners have had long standing interest in the former Barcelona midfielder and a deal was thought to be close in recent weeks, but now a report from Spanish publication Marca has revealed that West Ham have also registered their interest in Arthur - and the Brazilian knows it.

As a result, this could pose a huge threat to Arsenal’s pursuit of the Juventus man, with West Ham having considerably less options in the middle of the park than their Premier League rivals and can therefore offer more guaranteed minutes, and now the midfielder is said to be keeping his options open.

Pablo Mari next club decided

It has recently been reported that Pablo Mari’s representatives have been engaged in talks with a number of sides over the transfer of the Arsenal defender this summer, following on from being told that he can leave this summer after becoming surplus to requirements.

And according to reports, his next destination has been found, with the Spaniard set to join newly-promoted Serie A outfit Monza on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy if they do not get relegated at the end of this season.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, with Mari set to return to Italy after spending the second half of last season there with Udinese, scoring twice in 15 appearances, as he looks to get back on track with regular first team football.
