Things are looking up for Arsenal after a difficult 2019/20 campaign. Mikel Arteta has initiated an impressive turnaround since replacing Unai Emery, and new recruits Gabriel Magalhaes and Willian started the season well.
The Gunners’ signing of the summer might well be the contract extension of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored in the opening day win at Fulham.
But there is still hope of more arrivals before the close of the transfer window, with talk of midfielders Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar at the centre of attention over the last few days.
Here is all the latest Arsenal transfer news.
Goalkeeper in London to complete Arsenal move
Runar Alex Runarsson has travelled to London to complete his move to Arsenal, report football.london.
The Dijon goalkeeper is expected to be confirmed as the Gunners’ latest signing in the coming days.
Arsenal made the addition of a new goalkeeper a priority after Emiliano Martinez completed a move to Aston Villa this week.
Runarsson was identified as the prime target and the 25-year-old now looks set to join the club.
“Obviously with the departure of Emi, which is a big loss and someone that I think we all wish the best for what he has done for the football club as well as the person that he is - we have to replace him,” Arteta said on Friday.
“We are looking in the market and I think we will shortly be in a position to announce a new signing.
“In football the hours can become days and then something that looks unlikely can happen straight away.
“Depending on what is going to happen with our third goalkeeping position as well because we had some talks about that over the past few months so still the market is open and things can change.”
Arsenal were offered chance to sign Thiago

Arsenal were contacted by Bayern Munich over the availability of midfielder Thiago before he joined Liverpool, the Athletic have reported.
The Spaniard completed his £20m move to Anfield on Friday having been consistently linked with the Premier League champions throughout the summer.
But Thiago might have ended up at the Emirates if Arsenal had been interested in signing the Spain international.
The Gunners - along with London rivals Chelsea - were offered the chance to sign the 29-year-old as Bayern searched for a suitable fee with his contract into its final year.
Lyon president casts doubt over Aouar to Arsenal

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has claimed Arsenal “can’t invest” the money required to sign reported target Aouar.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to the Emirates, though the Gunners may have to sell some players to raise the required funds.
And Aulas has revealed that, as things stand, a deal doesn’t look likely.
“No I don't think so,” he said when asked about the possibility of Aouar joining Arsenal this summer.
“No offer yet, it seems that Arsenal don't want to, or can't invest the price for Houssem, who is our best player.”
