Arsenal transfer news: Nahitan Nandez transfer eyed, Thomas Partey swap deal plan

Arsenal are currently preparing for their FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday.

Whilst the Gunners missed out on qualifying for European football via the Premier League, they still have an opportunity to play in next season's Europea League if they win the cup.

Alongside that, a trophy during Mikel Arteta's first season in charge of the club could well convince potential transfer targets that the Gunners have the capability to challenge for silverware next season.

With that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Torreira involved in Partey deal

Goal report that Arsenal could be willing to include Lucas Torreira in any potential deal for Thomas Partey.

Mikel Arteta targets defender after Shkodran Mustafi injury

Partey is Mikel Arteta's main transfer target this summer as he looks to strengthen his midfield with a deal for the Atletico Madrid star.

Torreira has recently returned to fitness following a serious injury but plays in a similar role to Partey so would find his football limited should the Gunners land the 27-year-old.

It means a player-plus-cash deal could be on the table, with Atletico getting a ready-made replacement for Partey plus money to spend.

Nandez battle

Corriere dello Sport report that the Gunners have their eyes on another midfielder.

Nahitan Nandez has impressed for Cagliari since joining from Boca Juniors last summer and that has attracted the interest from a number of clubs, with Arsenal said to be among them.

The 24-year-old operates as a holding midfielder but also scored twice and created four goals in Serie A this season.

Chelsea and West Ham have also been linked with the player but Napoli are said to be frontrunners for his signature.

Saints and Brentford eye Balogun

The Daily Mail claim Southampton are eyeing up a move for Folarin Balogun.

Arsenal have told the teenage striker he is free to leave the Emirates after talks over a new contract broke down.

The Saints believe he can act as cover to Danny Ings and Che Adams following 10 goals in 15 games this season for the Gunners' under-23s.

Brentford have also been linked with the player.
