Arsenal transfer news: Mikel Arteta eyes triple deal, Mkhitaryan holds key to free transfer

Arsenal continue to be linked with multiple players ahead of next season.

The Gunners have just over a month to strengthen their squad before the 2020/21 Premier League season starts.

That has put the emphasis on transfer deals being done quickly in order to allow new signings time to settle into their surroundings.

With that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Arteta wants three signings

Mikel Arteta wants to sign Thomas Partey, Philippe Coutinho and Willian to bolster his Arsenal midfield ahead of his first full season in charge, according to reports.

The Gunners have been linked for long time with move for Partey and Coutinho, whilst Willian is said to be considering an offer of a three-year deal after contract talks broke down with Chelsea.

The Times report that the Gunners boss has drawn up a three-man wish-list to bolster the centre of his midfield ahead of the 2020-21 Premier League season.

The report states Arteta has put Atletico Madrid defensive midfielder Partey at the top of his wish-list as the Arsenal boss looks to add more tenacity to his midfield.

Mkhitaryan key to Willian deal

Arsenal need to offload on-loan winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan if they want to complete a deal for Chelsea winger Willian in the coming weeks, according to reports.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a deal for Willian, who is set to leave Stamford Bridge when their Champions League campaign comes to an end later this month.

Arsenal are prepared to offer the Brazilian winger a three-year deal at the Emirates, with Chelsea only prepared to offer the 31-year-old a two-year agreement.

According to The Sun, the Gunners need to wait until Mkhitaryan has been offloaded, with a preliminary agreement in place with Roma to extend his current loan deal there.

Guendouzi to reunite with Emery

Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery wants a reunion with Matteo Guendouzi in his new post at Villarreal, according to reports.

The Frenchman has been frozen out of the squad since he grabbed Neal Maupay by the neck after the 2-1 defeat to Brighton on June 20 and is out of favour with Arteta.

Interest in the midfielder has been ramping up a summer exit likely and Foot Mercato claim Emery, who was recently appointed Villarreal boss, wants Guendouzi to join him at the Spanish club.

Emery was at the helm when the youngster was recruited from French Ligue 2 side Lorient in 2018 and the former Arsenal boss made him a key player during his 18-month spell at the club.
