Arsenal transfer news latest: Kieran Tierney, Mario Hermoso, William Saliba, Alexis Claude-Maurice and Joachim Andersen

Arsenal face a daunting summer as they bid to haul themselves back into the Champions League next season.

After narrowly missing out in both the Premier League, via a top four finish, as well as losing the Europa League final to Chelsea, Unai Emery is under pressure.

Transfer funds must be made available, but Stan Kroenke's track record does not suggest Gunners fans should raise their hopes just yet, but that has not stopped the rumours.

Kieran Tierney is a prime target though, with the Celtic left-back impressing Emery, according to the Mail

The Gunners will have to pay more than £20m to land the 22-year-old though.

Atletico Madrid want Granit Xhaka, claim Mundo Deportivo, with Diego Simeone keen on the Swiss international.

Arsenal target Alexis Claude-Maurice wants to join Borussia Monchengladbach, with the Lorient winger telling L'Equipe he is eager to move to the Bundesliga.

"Now I feel like it's time to leave, to join a club that is playing at a higher level," he said.

"I want to join Monchengladbach. It is a club that relies on young people, there is a good structure, the team will play in the Europa League. This project pleases me and suits me."

Gunners youngster Eddie Nketiah is wanted by Charlton Athletic, claim South London Press.

Arsenal have dropped their interest in Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen, which has left Spurs in the clear, mulling over a £31.2m offer, according to the Star

Mario Hermoso has rejected a contract extension at Espanyol, claim Marca, meaning he is now certain to leave the La Liga club, with Arsenal linked.

Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain could also enter the race for the 24-year-old, who has one year left on his contract.

David Ospina is set to complete a £4m move to Napoli after his successful loan spell, claim Football London

And finally, there is no update yet on William Saliba, with the Standard claiming Arsenal begun talks at the start of this week for the Saint-Etienne defender.
