Arsenal transfer news: Gunners 'consider' Moises Caicedo bid as La Liga winger targeted

Here is your Arsenal transfer roundup on Wednesday, June 14.

Caicedo and Gundogan deals targeted

Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign West Ham United captain Declan Rice for more than £100million, according to The Guardian.

Their report claims that whilst a bid is yet to be submitted by the north London outfit, talks between them and the Hammers have been progressing smoothly amid confidence that a deal will soon be finalised. The Gunners are also claimed to be considering making a bid for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo whilst Mikel Arteta's side are also trying to sign Manchester City veteran Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer.

Rice warning

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has told Arsenal that they must act fast if they want to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer, with Manchester United potentially hijacking a deal to sign the England international.

Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Romano said: "I really hope for Arsenal fans that this is fast. Sometimes for Arsenal, and it’s not about Edu or Arteta, it’s about the owners, sometimes to do big signings you need the approval of the owners.

"We have seen in the past with the Mykhaylo Mudryk deal and the Gabriel Jesus deal other clubs tried to come in at the end like Tottenham and Chelsea, Arsenal protected that with Edu and his Brazilian connections. Sometimes Arsenal are too slow due to the owners when it comes to big names.

"In this case they have to be fast, the timing is going to be crucial. We don’t know what will happen with Manchester United, maybe next week they will have new owners and who knows what happens?

"Maybe they enter the situation where their presence is unexpected. Being fast in this moment of the market is absolutely important."

Chukwueze targeted

Arsenal are interested in signing Villarreal star Samuel Chukwueze, as per outlet Calciomercato.

Their report has claimed that Mikel Arteta's side are 'ready' to challenge the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid, Aston Villa, AC Milan and West Ham United in the race to sign Chukwueze this summer. Milan are said to currently lead the way in their pursuit of the Nigerian international, who is valued at €60million (£51million) by CIES Football Observatory.
