Arsenal transfer news: Florian Grillitsch emerges as potential transfer, Tammy Abraham advice

The transfer rumours continue to swirl in for Arsenal as they edge closer to confirming their Champions League spot next season. There's still a number of important games to come for the Gunners, but they'll be hopeful that they're in a good position to secure a spot in the competition next season.

The Gunners' crucial wins against Chelsea and Manchester United have seem them back in a solid position to take the all-important fourth spot in the Premier League. After three consecutive Premier League defeats, many were already projecting that Mikel Arteta's side would hand the fourth place spot to bitter rivals Tottenham in the battle for Champions League qualification.

Arsenal have two huge games to come though, as they will come up against West Ham and Spurs, who hope to remain in the battle for the final Champions League spot.

And whilst fans will be focusing on securing their spot, they will have one eye on players linked to them next season as Mikel Arteta continues to build his squad.

Here's a look at the latest transfer rumours.

Arsenal attempt to sign Florian Grillitsch

SportsBILD have claimed that Arsenal are trying to sign Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch on a free transfer this summer. The Gunners are likely to pursue a new defensive midfielder to pair with Thomas Partey, who has injury concerns himself, as Arteta rebuilds the midfield this upcoming transfer window with Granit Xhaka likely to leave this window.

Grillitsch was reportedly on Arsenal's radar at the start of the year and the report states that they are looking sign him as a free agent this summer. The 26-year-old is a versatile defensive midfielder who impresses with his passing ability from deep positions.

Arsenal told to sign Tammy Abraham

The Express have reported that Arsenal have shortlisted Tammy Abraham as one of their targets as they rebuild their attacking unit with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang having already left to join Barcelona, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both out of contract at the end of the season.

And Gary Neville has told Arsenal to make Abraham their own version of Roberto Firmino. He said: "I mean he could be the Firmino. You see Firmino at Liverpool who does sometimes get questioned a little bit for not getting enough goals. But I don’t think from anyone who knows football questions him and what he brings then the other two get more plaudits and score goals."

The report also names Gabriel Jesus, Victor Osimhen, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Raul de Tomas and Jonathan David as strikers on Arsenal's shortlist.
