Arsenal transfer news: Darwin Nunez £53m move, Fabian Ruiz boost, Noa Lang update

Arsenal are in a good place right now after being on a three-win streak in the Premier League action whilst holding the pole position for that all important top-four finish.

Mikel Arteta's side will have been encouraged by Manchester United's goalless draw with Watford, which leaves Arsenal two points off the top four with three games in hand.

On top of that, Arsenal will face league strugglers Watford this weekend, whilst Man Utd travel to the Etihad to face Man City as they'll hope to put themselves in a good situation heading into the last three months of the campaign.

And there's still plenty of transfer rumours floating around behind the scenes, with Arsenal seemingly in for an important summer in 2022.

After selling striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and with Alex Lacazette looking set to leave as a free agent, a forward will clearly be high on Arsenal's agenda.

And after missing out on Dusan Vlahovic, Arsenal have been linked with one of Europe's top goalscorers.

Calciomercato have reported that Darwin Nunez could join from Benfica, with Arsenal's interest being firm. The striker could cost as much as £53million after his breakout season - scoring 25 goals in all competitions so far - only two fewer than Mohamed Salah.

Arsenal are likely to be in for at least two strikers, and whilst spending that kind of fee would hurt their abilities to strengthen elsewhere, Nunez would be a significant upgrade in a key area of need for the Gunners.

Elsewhere, Arsenal are reportedly at the front of the queue for Napoli central midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

FourFourTwo reports that the Spaniard would cost an absolute bargain price of just £16million, with just one year left on his deal and being unwilling to agree a new contract.

Ruiz is a ball-playing defensive central midfielder who could fit nicely alongside Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard should Arsenal continue to use a 4-3-3 next season.

Finally, Club Brugge winger Noa Lang is expected to receive interest and Arsenal are a team who are reported to be involved.

Dutch outlet Het Belang van Limburg reports that the Gunners will be one of many teams vying for his signature after an impressive 18 months with the Belgian side.

Lang has scored eight goals and added 12 assists in all competitions so far this season.
