Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Villarreal fear Pino bid, Pedro Neto enquiry, Tielemans alternative

Arsenal could burst through the £200million barrier with a final big splash in the summer transfer market.

Mikel Arteta has promised to continue spending and Yeremy Pino has become the latest target to emerge for the Gunners.

A central midfielder continues to be on Arsenal’s agenda too with Youri Tielemans, Seko Fofana and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic eyed.

On the flanks, Wolves winger Pedro Neto is a long-term target once again being talked about as an option this summer.

Here is your latest update of Arsenal transfer news and rumours...

Yeremy Pino

Villarreal fear a bid from Arsenal or Liverpool will be difficult to turn down for Spain international Pino.

The teenager has caught the eye at El Madrigal and has a £67.5m release clause embedded in his contract.

However, Villarreal are reported by AS to need to sell players before they can make serious movements in the market - potentially clearing the path for what would still need to be a big offer.

Wolves winger Pedro Neto has been the subject of enquiries from Arsenal in recent weeks.

That is according to transfer journalist Dean Jones, who claims the Gunners could progress their interest in the coming few days.

It was reported last summer that Wolves want £50m for the Portuguese star.

Seko Fofana

After it emerged over the weekend that £40m Lens captain Fofana is Arsenal’s ideal alternative to Youri Tielemans, the French club’s coach has spoken out in a bid to dismiss the rumours.

Franck Haise told L’Equipe: “I’m very frank when I say that. Since June 24, and the resumption of training, Seko is here and trains very well. He’s still the same competitor, he wants to win every match, like us. We are all aware that there might be some departures. But today, he is my captain and I don’t ask myself any other questions.”

Fofana, also wanted by AC Milan, said earlier in the summer: “Anything is possible. I want to have fun and take everything I can take. We are in a market period in which there is a lot of reflection. You can tell yourself that you will stay or that you will leave, you don’t really know.”
