'Arsenal transfer confirmed' - Fans come up with incredible Wilfried Zaha theory

Arsenal's interest in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is set to be one of the more drawn out transfer sagas of the summer.

The Gunners have already seen a £40m bid instantly knocked back by the Eagles, who are thought to be looking for a figure almost double that of Arsenal's opening offer.

However, the Ivory Coast international has made it clear to his current club that he would like a move to the Emirates this season.

Previous comments from the player's brother have revealed Zaha's desperation to move to his boyhood club this summer.

The 26-year-old has been one of the most sought after players outside of the Premier League top six, and Palace's manager Roy Hodgson has reiterated the club's stance on selling their player.

"I don't think Arsenal have actually made a bid that has come anywhere near our valuation," he told Sky Sports . I'm sure the player realises that if someone's going to take him, he'll expect clubs to pay the market value.

"Until someone does that, there's not much to discuss."

As with any modern day transfer window, social media now plays a big role in how fans get information on who may or may not be joining in the summer.

And, some Arsenal fans think that they may have spotted a clue in Zaha's latest post on Twitter.

The Palace man has posted a picture of himself with the caption 'More life, less stress', and a few Arsenal fans noticed what the winger was wearing in the picture, prompting some tongue in cheek replies.

Although one Gunners' fan did have one piece of advice for the Ivorian.

Zaha is now on holiday following his participation with the Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations, he will be due back at Crystal Palace in the coming weeks.
