Arsenal transfer boost as Bayern Munich make James Rodriguez decision

James Rodriguez will reportedly return to Real Madrid when his two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich ends on June 15, but the Colombian is soon likely to move on again.

Marca reported that Bayern have decided against turning the Colombian's stay in Germany into a permanent one, amid claims that he has had a falling out with Bayern coach Niko Kovac.

The Croatian was seemingly unhappy that James made it clear that he wanted to return to Madrid just one year into his loan spell, after former Real boss Julen Lopetegui asked for him to come back to club last summer.

That damaged the relationship between the player and manager, and was one of the reasons behind Kovac's rocky start at Bayern.

Real Madrid 'to announce Eden Hazard transfer at end of season'

Returning Real coach Zinedine Zidane had little time for James when he was in charge, and so he is now surely likely to be moved on this summer, two years before the end of his Madrid contract.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with the Colombian, while Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the past.

Former Bayern midfielder Stefan Effenberg said James has to leave Bayern for the sake of his career.

Iker Casillas 'cannot play football again' after heart attack says cardiologist

“If he looks at his personal situation in a reasonable manner, James must realise that the right thing for him to do is to leave the club,” Effenberg told T-Online . “He has to play and have fun kicking the ball.

“If he is only allowed to play seven, 10, 12 or 15 minutes, he is lost. In the Bundesliga this season, he has only played 90 minutes three times – that's not enough. As such, he cannot stay with Bayern.

“Even at Real Madrid he will find it difficult to get the playing time that matches his talent. Maybe he has to go somewhere completely new. Either way, he has to leave Bayern.”
