Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea given Gabriel Jesus transfer boost due to major Real Madrid issue

Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been given a boost in their attempts to sign Gabriel Jesus this summer, due to regulations that have restricted Real Madrid. All three London clubs have been heavily linked with the Brazilian, who looks set to leave Manchester City.

The 25-year-old only has one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad, while the arrivals of Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland only adds to the speculation over his future. For Arsenal, it comes after a season where they lacked a consistent goalscorer, which played a part in the side missing out on a top four finish.

On the priority this summer, Mikel Arteta said: “He puts the ball in the net – that’s priority number one. Goal threat. Any successful team needs enough goal threat in the squad. Without it, you have nothing.”

Similar can be said of Chelsea, who struggled for goals, despite making the club-record signing of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian has since been linked with a return to Inter Milan, while Thomas Tuchel tries to configure his frontline.

With Spurs, Antonio Conte has brought balance to his side, making an unlikely charge towards Champions League qualification. The Italian’s next task is to strengthen the squad, while adding quality in depth.

All three clubs appear to have turned to Gabriel Jesus to solve their issues in the market, however they aren’t alone. Reports have added that Real Madrid are also very interested in the forward, with some claiming that he could prefer a move to Spain.

That may not be a possibility though, as Marca reports that La Liga regulations could prevent them landing the Brazilian. It states that only three non-European players can be registered for the competition.

This presents a problem for Los Blancos, who already have Eder Militao, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo registered. The soonest any of them they could earn dual nationally, to be able to free a spot for Jesus, would be January. While it’s a blow to them, all three London clubs will see it as an opportunity to move in and land their target.
