Arsenal told what they must do to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Christopher Nkunku this summer

Arsenal's hopes of signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku were boosted earlier in the month, and now it has become clear as to how a deal could be structured in the summer.

The 21-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Gunners at the beginning of the year as Unai Emery looked to raid his former club in order to bolster his attacking options.

Football.london  were told that the north London outfit had high hopes of  getting a deal over the line for Nkunku, although it was dependent on PSG bringing in at least one midfielder before the end of the January transfer window.

The Alexandre Lacazette and Wilfried Zaha exchange that has excited Arsenal supporters

The Ligue 1 giants managed to sign reported Chelsea target Leandro Paredes and that seemed to be paving the way for Nkunku's switch to the Emirates Stadium, only for that deal to collapse.

This is because PSG wanted to agree a new contract with the 21-year-old if he was to go to Arsenal and there was far too little time to realistically get that done.

Fast forward a few months and with Nkunku's playing time at the Parc des Princes being reduced, his agent Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan confirmed a summer exit could be on the cards.

"The playing time is insufficient. Christopher is open to a departure," he said.

With Aaron Ramsey joining Juventus on a free transfer in July, the Gunners are on the market for a replacement and reports from France last month suggest their interest in Nkunku hasn't cooled off just yet.

Amid talk of a £30m bid being prepared, RMC - as per Get French Football News - are reporting that PSG are willing cash in on several youth prospects and that includes Nkunku.

However, there's a catch.

The report claims the Ligue 1 champions will listen to offers for Nkunku and others but will be more willing to accept a package which would see them receive a percentage of any future sale.

Whether the Gunners would be prepared to agree to such a deal remains to be seen, but it's shaping up to be a busy summer for the club amid links to the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Nicolas Pepe.
