Jamie Redknapp has outlined what Arsenal need to do to keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club.
With just a year left on his contract, there has been plenty of speculation around Aubameyang's future at Arsenal this summer, with a number of different clubs linked to the striker.
The Gunners remain hopeful of getting their key player to agree to a new deal but Redknapp believes that more needs to happen for Aubameyang to sign.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Arsenal's defeat to Aston Villa, Redknapp said that the Gunners need to show ambition in the transfer market for the 31-year-old to agree to stay.
Alongside that, the pundit believes winning the FA Cup could go a long way to convincing Aubameyang that Arsenal still have the ability to be competitive.
“He wants to play with better players, of course he does," Redknapp said. "He also wants to know who’s coming in.
"Of course he gets on well with his mates, Lacazette, Nketiah, and I know he speaks very highly about Saka. There are some good players there.
"He’s obviously a very ambitious player who’s played at the top.
"He’ll want to look at the players coming in, and he’s got every right to think he’s coming to the twilight of his career and he wants to win something.
"He might win something in the FA Cup. He’ll look at that as a great opportunity.
"They’re the sort of things that can help you keep a top player.
Meanwhile, Micah Richards believes sorting out the 31-year-old's future is key.
"A key signing for them would be getting Aubameyang wrapped up and then looking elsewhere. We don’t know what money Arsenal have got, we’re speculating," he said. "But I do see something within this side, especially with the way they played against Man City.
"If you look at Chelsea earlier in the season, when they didn’t have money to spend, nobody gave them the time of day. ‘Oh, they’ll finish sixth, seventh, eighth!’.
"And Frank has been a revelation. Arsenal have got them young players. It’s just how you get them in the team with the right balance. I think Arteta is the right manager for the job, it’s just finding that balance between youth and a bit of quality."
