Arsenal fans will be hoping their side are active in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have endured a difficult season to date, wit the club in ninth position in the Premier League table, although Mikel Arteta has turned things around since replacing Unai Emery as head coach in December.
It is as yet unknown how much the Spaniard will have to spend in the summer to bring new players in, but he was busy i January, bringing in defensive reinforcements in the form of Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari on loan from Southampton and Flamengo respectively.
But with question marks over Dani Ceballos' future, with the Spaniard only on loan until the end of the season, and the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mohamed Elneny expected to depart, there will be a hope amongst the fan base that midfield reinforcements will come in.
Arsenal have been continually linked with a move for Atletico Madrid midfield man Thomas Partey this summer, althoug he would cost in the region of £45million.
But the Gunners have been told to get the deal done by former West Ham and Newcastle man Shaka Hislop.
Speaking to ESPN FC , Hislop said: "Thomas Partey has been outstanding for the last two years.
"If you’re Arsenal and you can somehow prise Partey away from Atletico Madrid, absolutely you do it all day every day.
"He sits in front of the back four, I’m still not sure that there are many better box-to-box midfielders in the game. If you get this done, do it now, do it quick.
"There’s a challenge around Atletico Madrid and their style of play which made the headlines again this season.
"Maybe Partey feels it’s time for a new challenge, a different style of football, maybe Arsenal offer him something financially that makes it worthwhile and Arteta convinces him they’ll be playing Champions League before long.
"There’s a lot of ifs, ands and buts about it, but if you’re Arsenal and you can convince him, I don’t think you need to look anywhere else."
