Arsenal told "put the money down" as Martin Odegaard alternative available at cut price

Arsenal have been urged to "put the money down" for former Liverpool target Nabil Fekir, with the Frenchman seen as a cut-price alternative to Martin Odegaard.

Norwegian playmaker Odegaard is impressing Gunners fans during his loan spell at the Emirates Stadium, but his displays have only served to increase interest in securing his services in a permanent deal from Real Madrid.

With Arsenal's European prospects unclear for next season, Odegaard - who spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad - has been linked with some of the Gunners' Premier League rivals, increasing Arsenal's fear that they may not be able to land him come the summer.

French international Fekir has emerged as a possible alternative though, with the Real Betis playmaker said to be available for £26million this summer.

The World Cup winner was on the brink of a move to Liverpool in 2018, only for medical issues and problems with the structure of the deal to see his transfer from Lyon dramatically collapse.

Former Gunners forward Kevin Campbell is hopeful that a move could happen, describing Fekir's price as "very reasonable" in the current market.

"Fekir is a real handful," Campbell told Football Insider.

"He can score goals, he can create, he is strong, quick and has a wand of a left foot.

"I was hearing he is available for £26million, I’m telling you, put the money down now. "

He is a top player. £26million? Arsenal, put the money down now because that is a very reasonable price."

As it stands there is no indication that Arsenal will move for Fekir this summer, with the Gunners surely prioritising a permanent deal for Odegaard should the opportunity arise.
