Arsenal told of possible Premier League title regret due to Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd issue

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas believes the Gunners will not stand a chance of winning the Premier League next season due to the strength of Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United.

Mikel Arteta's side are currently five points clear of Manchester City and have surpassed all expectations this campaign. The north Londoners travel to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday knowing a win will give them their greatest possible chance of lifting a league title since 2004.

But defeat for Arteta and Co could prove to be costly, especially with Pep Guardiola's side having two games in hand on their title rivals. Gallas, who played just under 150 games in an Arsenal shirt, believes this season is his old side's best chance of winning the league as he is backing the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United to all improve next campaign.

Speaking to Genting Casino, Gallas said: "Of course, Arsenal will still challenge for the title next season. Arsenal should be expected to challenge for the title every year.

"Will they be ready to challenge? Other clubs will be competing with them next season who haven’t been able to do that this year.

"Liverpool, who are having a bad season, next season will be very different for them. They will be ready to challenge for the title again. We know City will be there. Chelsea, they are having a terrible season, but nobody would be surprised if they started to compete again next year. Manchester United will also be there.

"It looks like there will be a lot more teams ready to compete for the title next season. With all those clubs going for it next season, I don’t think Arsenal will win the league. That’s why this season was very, very important for them."
