Arsenal told Dusan Vlahovic's staggering wage demands in addition to £58m transfer fee

Arsenal transfer target Dusan Vlahovic wants a staggering £300,000-per-week, according to recent reports.

The Serbian international has been in imperious form for Fiorentina over the last 18 months, establishing himself as one of Serie A's most clinical strikers last season, notching 22 goals in Italy's top-flight before continuing his hot streak this term, finding the back of the net in the league 16 times in just 19 outings.

That kind of form has seen the 21-year-old linked with a host of clubs across Europe, including the Gunners, who are reportedly 'best placed' of Vlahovic's potential suitors to sign him in January.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, the north Londoners have been told that the prolific frontman wants £160,000-per-week in wages after-tax, a sum that equates to just over £300,000-per-week pre-tax.

Arsenal will also reportedly need to pay his current employer Fiorentina £58million, with the player's camp demanding £15million in fees - something that is said to have put several clubs off signing him.

The talented centre-forward has less than 18 months left on his current contract with the Florence club, who have previously confirmed that he has rejected offers from the club to renew his deal.

Speaking to Radio 24, via Football Italia back in December, La Viola president Rocco Commisso criticised Vlahovic's representatives for their role in negotiations.

“In America, agents take a slice of their clients’ salaries", Commisso said. "They don’t weigh on the transfers.

“I don’t want to say I’ve been blackmailed, it’s a strong word, but I’ve been held in check by those who want to move Vlahovic at all costs, as it happened with Donnarumma.

“If it wasn’t for me, Vlahovic would not have the chance to become a king here in Florence.”
