Arsenal produced a stellar defensive performance against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta's side grabbed two early goals, with Gabriel Magalhaes breaking the deadlock in the fifth minute, glancing his header past a helpless Kasper Schmeichel after an inch-perfect Bukayo Saka corner.
The Gunners dominated early proceedings before Emile Smith Rowe doubled his side's advantage 13 minutes after the opener, making a late run into the box after Leicester's James Maddison had given the ball away on the edge of the Arsenal penalty area.
The north Londoners then sat deep for the remainder of the game as goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale produced a plethora of outstanding saves to keep their two-goal lead intact, meaning Ramsdale has now kept four clean sheets in just seven Premier League outings this season.
Similarly, the aforementioned Gabriel has played in those seven league fixtures after missing the opening three matches through injury.
In those seven games, the Gunners have looked a much more accomplished side, conceding just four times and remaining undefeated.
The Brazilian's consistent performances have caught the eye of former Tottenham Hotspur defender Garth Crooks, who has claimed that the 23-year-old has quickly established himself as one of Arsenal's most important players in recent times.
“Arsenal often look a different outfit when Gabriel is fit and in the team", Crooks wrote in his Premier League team of the week for the BBC.
"It would certainly appear since their victory in the north London derby, the Gunners’ season has come alive.
“It’s not the first time either team has used the fixture to stimulate their season but Arsenal seem to have done it in spectacular fashion.
"To beat Leicester away is one thing, but to do it in the manner they did was notable."
