Arsenal 'to make final Reiss Nelson transfer decision' as interest hots up

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is set to make a decision on Reiss Nelson after fresh interest in the youngster.

England Under-21s star Nelson impressed on loan at Hoffenheim last season, scoring seven times in 25 appearances.

He has returned to Arsenal for pre-season and has been given a chance to impress by boss Emery.

The Gunners chief is likely to run the rule over Emery in the next two weeks and decide whether he can afford to loan him out again.

The Sun reports Hertha Berlin want to take Nelson back to the Bundesliga on a season-long loan.

Nelson had also been reportedly offered to Crystal Palace in a deal for Wilfried Zaha but the approach was rejected by the Eagles.

The 19-year-old is likely to seek assurances over his role at the Emirates before pushing for a move away from the club.

It is claimed Hertha are also monitoring Watford youngster Dodi Lukebakio as an alternative.

Unai Emery has already confirmed one youngster, Eddie Nketiah, will stay at the club after shining in pre-season.

Nketiah scored twice against Fiorentina after his goal against Bayern Munich and is set for a first-team role next term.
