Arsenal 'to complete transfer in the next few hours' after head of football flies back to UK

Arsenal will complete the loan signing of Dani Ceballos in the next few hours, according to reports from Spain.

The Gunners identified the Real Madrid midfielder as a target after Aaron Ramsey left the club on a free to join Juventus.

And Ceballos is due to fly to London to complete a medical at Arsenal's London Colney training camp ahead of the new season.

Arsenal aren't blessed with the funds of their top six rivals, meaning Unai Emery has to be frugal in the transfer window.

The loan deal sees the Gunners avoid paying a transfer fee for the player, who will return to Los Blancos at the end of the season.

According to Spanish publication AS, via SportWitness, Ceballos will complete his switch to Arsenal in the 'next few hours' unless either party makes a dramatic U-turn.

Arsenal's head of football Raul Sanllehi recently flew home from America, where the Gunners are on tour, to thrash out deals for Ceballos and Kieran Tierney.

The Gunners are expected to step up their chase for the Celtic left-back after completing the transfer for the Spaniard.

Celtic are playing hardball over their price for the defender, who Arsenal are looking to pay around £25million to sign.

The cash-strapped Gunners wants to pay less money up front, with bonuses and installments to sweeten the deal.

But the Scottish giants want to receive a big transfer fee for the player, which they can reinvest on Tierney's replacement.
